The restaurant is located on the second floor of Joyful AK in Tonden. It's a 30 minute drive from central Sapporo. Drive south along Ishikari road and turn left at the Mega Donki store (across the road). For public transport, the closest station is a 36 minute walk away (Yurigahara JR station).

Cento Per Cento translates to 100% in Italian, and it is here you are definitely get all of your moneys worth. This is a hidden gem and is located on the second floor of Joyful AK. The food here is fantastic and at such an affordable price, it is definitely worth a visit if you are doing some shopping and feeling a little peckish. Joyful AK is a huge store that excels in building and construction goods and interior. The restaurant can be found up on the second floor and has plenty of seating for a busy shopping complex. 

 

The menu here is great, in particular the lunch menu is a must. For such a decent price, you get some prosciutto and vegetables, then a delicious pizza base topped with ham, lettuce and drizzled in oil, and finally a pasta dish, with a coffee. All this for around ¥1000. Most of the food here is unbelievably under ¥1000. The sizes here also are perfect. You can find some great pizzas and pastas and desserts here. They also have a seasonal menu. Cento Per Cento is a must visit if you’re in the area!

Gyoza no Ohsho is a huge chain of Chinese restaurants throughout Japan. They boast having over 700 stores throughout the country. In Hokkaido there are 20 Gyoza no Ohsho stores with 11 of these being in the city of Sapporo. This chain has been running for an impressive past fifty years! Gyoza (also known as Jiaozi in China) is a Chinese dumpling which is a popular dish in Japan as well as Southeast Asia. Gyoza no Ohsho uses Japanese ingredients and take pride in their pursuit of freshness and quality. The dumplings are handmade by the chefs at each of their restaurants. 

So, what makes these restaurants so popular? There are so many of these restaurants around that they are easy to find. In Hokkaido you can find a Gyoza No Ohsho in every major city (please see map below for further locations around Hokkaido). The prices here are really affordable and you get a lot for your buck. The gyoza here is good and you can get a large set meal from your pick of all your favorite Chinese dishes in Japan. They have fried rice, noodles and spicy soups just to name a few. For a cheap and easy Chinese lunch or meal, Gyoza No Ohsha is a good place to check out. The stores are noticeable for their large red signs out front.

The street is a 7 minute walk north from the JR Obihiro station. From the airport it's 40 minutes to Obihiro Station Bus Terminal by city ​​hotel patrol bus (¥1000 one way).

For a night out on the town in Obihiro most of the bars and restaurants are on the north side of Obihiro Station. Walking the streets you will come across Tokachi No Nagaya & Kitanoyatai. These narrow streets cover two blocks and seem to be one of the most popular areas for the locals. Lining the streets are around forty small bars, izakayas, and restaurants. They are all quite compact and can fit up to around twelve people (some even have standing space only). Each bar is unique and as you walk down the street you can see and hear the revelers enjoying a good night out on the town. 

The compact shops at Kita no Yatai and Tokachi no Nagaya serve locally brewed sake and the food here is fantastic. You can find dishes made from the fresh produce of Tokachi. One of the great things about these bars is that they are open all year and can be enjoyed in any weather. They have covers to keep the warmth in winter and are opened out during the summer. There is a great atmosphere throughout the streets and is a great Japanese experience. These streets are a must see while in Obihiro and worth more than one visit to enjoy all the bars and restaurants!

For those of you who enjoy a good pork dish, then ‘Butadon’ is a must try while in Japan. Butadon is pork simmered in a mildly sweet sauce served in a bowl on top of steaming white rice. Butadon is famous in Obihiro (central Hokkaido), and Butadon Tonta is one of the best pork restaurants in the city. The restaurant is slightly on the edge of the city centre by the large Satsunai River. It is a 30 minute walk from the centre of town, so going by car is the best means to get there. The pork here is full of flavor and succulent. 

The menu here has only three main dishes but these are enough for any diner as they are all equally delicious. There is a basic pork loin bowl, a more succulent but fattier rose pork bowl, and lastly there is a fillet bowl which serves a more lean cut of pork. These dishes all come with a sauce which can be poured over the bowl and has a fantastic flavor. At the cash register, you can buy this fantastic sauce to take home with you. This restaurant is large and has plenty of parking. If you want to experience famous butadon, look no further than Butadon Tonta!

Izumiya is located in central Kushiro in the nightlife district. It is one block from Kushiro River. The restaurant is a 13 minute walk from Kushiro station.

Izumiya is a western style restaurant in the entertainment district of Kushiro. Kushiro being one of the largest cities on the south eastern coast of Hokkaido. Izumiya opened in 1960 and has a claim to fame over any other restaurant. Kushiro is famous for its special cuisines. One of these dishes being ‘Supa Katsu’. It is here at Izumiya, that supa katsu originated. Supa katsu is a spaghetti dish that is presented on a piping hot iron plate. The spaghetti is topped with thick juicy cuts of tonkatsu (deep-fried pork cutlet) and on top of all that, a savory meat sauce is poured. 

This dish is very filling and being on a hot iron plate, remains warm throughout. The restaurants decor hasn’t seemed to have changed over the years but there is plenty of seating here and is ok for small groups. Being a western style restaurant, there are other dishes on the menu. These include steaks, salads, pastas, and seafood meals and delicious desserts. For those visiting, the supa katsu should be tried due to the history of the place, just make sure you have a healthy appetite beforehand. The restaurant can be found on the second floor.

From Sapporo the cape is about a 4 hour drive down the south coast. There is also a return express bus from Sapporo station. JR Hokkaido Bus (High Speed) to Erimo, (reservation required until the day before departure).

The Erimo Misaki Tourist Center serves as a souvenir store, information center, and as a seafood restaurant. It can be found at Cape Erimo on the point. There is a large carpark here as well, and the Tourist Center is definitely a welcome place during cold, wet and windy weather. Close by, you can also find the entrance to the Kaze no Yakata (house of wind), wind museum. The tourist center has numerous souvenirs inside. These include mainly animal products from the local wildlife such as antlers from the Hokkaido deer. 

The restaurant is large and one of the best spots to try some local seafood while in Erimo. There are not a lot of restaurants in Erimo, so this is a good spot for some lunch while on the road. Being on the coast, there is plenty of seafood to choose from. They have a great sea urchin bowl that comes with rice, pickles and a miso soup. It is costly at ¥3600 a bowl, but if you have the money, it’s worth a try. Other dishes include sashimi, sushi, and shellfish. You can also find some large tanks with equally large snow crabs for sale. These things are huge and aren’t cheap! Overall, Erimo Misaki Tourist Center is a good place, although a little old, to stop off at take a look at its wares, or have a taste of its local cuisine!
